G24i Solar Technology Project

Brief

To establish a practical use for G24i‘s new solar technology which is revolutionising solar power. It is incredibly thin and flexible and can be used for both 6V and 12V applications. Try and think about applications suitable for both the west and the developing countries.

Response

Utilising the flexibility of the material, I designed a charging system for small electronic gadgets such as mobile phones and mp3 players. The solar panel retracts into the body of the unit when not in use, thus protecting it from dust and water when not in use. The unit houses all the necessary adaptors for the most commonly used gadgets.
